abstract = {A review of the literature examining mentoring in the sports management context is presented. Previous work has looked at: the functions of mentoring; as well as the benefits and outcomes of mentoring for both individuals and organizations. An alternative approach is proposed, peer relationships. Mentoring at work: Developmental relationships in organizational life (K. E. Kram 1988) identified three types of peer: information peer, collegial peer, and special peer. The author describes how the members of the North American Society of Sport Management can incorporate peer relationships into their working lives to further the profession.},
