abstract = {Examined time limited (10 sessions) counseling treatments to explore the history of the working alliance over time. Measures used were a working alliance inventory and a session evaluation questionnaire. Similar patterns of working alliance development were reported by 2 counselors across 4 clients (aged 28–49 yrs). The initial development phase of the working relationship was followed by a period when the relationship decayed. There were indications that the working alliances were repaired during the final sessions. As predicted by E. S. Bordin (1980), the 2 counselors with different theoretical approaches associated contrasting aspects of the working alliance with positive session outcome.},
