abstract = {This paper aims to develop a model for coaching and coaching psychology that encompasses our tripartite nature, body, soul and spirit, and therefore provide a holistic approach to coaching. In our 20th century Western culture, religion has been sidelined and yet studies show that 85% of the world’s population has a religious or spiritual belief. These beliefs could support the coaching sessions or sabotage them, so they should not be ignored. This article presents an adaptation of the SPACE model to include Spirituality as an additional modality and offer a more holistic coaching framework The religious/spiritual dimension within the coachee could be referred to as the elephant in the room’, as currently it is not acknowledged in the coaching session. Religious/spiritual beliefs are integral to individuals, so it is crucial the coaching psychologists acknowledge the coachee as a whole. By using the SPACE model, a popular, comprehensive and easy to use tool, the SPACES model will focus on the individual’s tripartite nature to gain a deeper insight into the coachee to help them towards self-understanding. },
