@article{Sperry,1993Describes,
abstract = {Describes the inner world and needs of today's executives and how psychologists and psychiatrists can respond to their need for consulting, coaching, and counseling. Profiles of the healthy, distressed, and impaired executive are sketched, and 3 types of services are described: executive consulting, executive counseling, and executive coaching. Although there is some overlap among these 3 services, there are considerable differences requiring specific competencies. Even though the numbers of psychological and psychiatric consultants who are attuned to the inner world and the process of executive consulting, counseling, and coaching are increasing, the demand seems greater. Networking among such professionals (especially in the division of consulting psychology of the American Psychological Association and the Academy of Organizational and Occupational Psychiatry) must be encouraged.},
