AB - This paper introduces parent coaching as an alternative to parent training to improve both parental satisfaction and children’s behavioural problems. Whilst parent training programmes have been extensively researched, there is a lack of research into the effectiveness of parent coaching. Formal research into parent coaching is essential to ensure that the most effective coaching skills, techniques and theory are being used by practitioners.
