AB - The scholarship of engagement is embraced widely by teaching and human service programs in colleges and universities in the USA. Mentoring networks support work of diverse engaged scholars in teaching, advising, conducting research, providing service, and finding work-life balance in the academy. This study investigated benefits of mentoring networks for engaged scholars in order to support their professional careers, develop identities, and work collaboratively and reciprocally within and outside of the university. As engaged scholars actively respond to the university/college vision and mission to embrace diversity, given challenging economic and political climates, a network of mentors with skills in education diplomacy is essential.
